BillVigil Terms and Conditions

1. What BillVigil does
BillVigil reads a bank statement you provide, shows your recurring charges and spending, gives you steps and ready-made messages to cancel subscriptions, and sends reminders before charges are due.
2. What BillVigil does not do
- BillVigil is not a bank or a payment service. It does not hold, move or block money, and it does not connect to your bank account.
- BillVigil does not cancel subscriptions for you. You carry out each cancellation yourself. A payment stopped by your bank does not end your contract with a merchant.
- BillVigil does not give financial, legal or tax advice.
3. Accuracy
Results depend on the statement you upload. BillVigil may miss a subscription, show a charge that is not one, or estimate a date or amount incorrectly. Check important details against your bank and the merchant before you act. Decisions to keep or cancel a service are yours.
4. Your account
You must be 18 or over. Keep your password private and upload only statements for accounts that are yours or that you are allowed to review. Do not misuse the service, attempt to access other users' data, or interfere with how it runs. We may suspend accounts that do.
5. Plans and payment
- Free Audit: one statement audit at no cost.
- Vigil Pro: €4.99 per month, for reminders, checks and unlimited statements. The price and any taxes are shown at checkout.
- Vigil Yearly: €39 per year, with the same paid features. The price and any taxes are shown at checkout.
- Vigil Pro and Vigil Yearly renew automatically at the end of each period. We email you before each renewal.
- You can cancel at any time in Settings. You keep Vigil Pro or Vigil Yearly until the end of the period you paid for, and you are not charged again.
- If you ask within 14 days of your first payment, we refund it in full.
6. Your data
Our Privacy Policy explains what we store and how to delete it. It forms part of these terms.
7. Brand names and logos
Merchant names and logos belong to their owners and are shown only to help you recognise your charges. BillVigil is not affiliated with or endorsed by those companies.
8. Our responsibility
We provide BillVigil with reasonable care, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for charges, fees or losses arising from subscriptions you kept or cancelled, or from a reminder that did not reach you, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop using BillVigil and delete your data at any time. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why.
10. Changes
If we change these terms or our prices, we will email you at least 30 days before the change applies. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of the country where the operator of BillVigil is established. If you are a consumer, you keep the protections of the law of the country where you live.
